"How to find a treasure":A treasure is a lot of money concealed in the ground, and when you take off the earth that is covering it, you find the treasure. The treasure can be concealed under a stone or at the foot of a tree, or in your cellar.
The story took place in Egypt. You know, in Egypt, you find statues of all sorts representing men, gods or animals. The statue I am speaking of represented a man pointing to a precise spot on the ground with his forefinger. And, on the statue's pedestal, you could read these words : "Strike here, and you'll find a treasure". So, for centuries, people had been striking the ground at the spot indicated by the statue's finger. But the place to which the statue's finger was pointing was an enormous stone of granite and when people struck the stone, they just made a little mark, but they could not find the treasure. For years and centuries, people had been striking the stone, but just to make a little mark on it. One day, a dervish was sitting in meditation in front of the statue and it was midday, that is exactly twelve-noon. And suddenly, the dervish saw the shadow of the statue's finger pointing to another spot than the finger itself did. So, the dervish marked the spot. He went and fetched some tools. He came back and started digging. And he soon found the treasure. The treasure was not at the place indicated by the finger itself, it was situated at the place indicated by the finger's shadow at midday.
