Heritage of the mother landscape

This was a production of 2001 till 2002 and Filip first work after his studio works "Aromatic". Heritage of the mother landscape is a production of 10 photos including one 360 degree panoramic image. Filip Naudts inspiration for this production was a photo, from the"The heritage of the motherhood" production, taken by Gertrude Käsebier (1854-1934) in 1904. She was a representative of the rural pictural art. The climate of this particular photo was a major determent for the other photos in the production.
Filip Naudts production shows timeless landscapes in which women that are in real life famous, free themselves from being defined as the persons they are.
You can see this production as a painful reminder of what people do with their natural environment, cramming it with buildings and cutting in the once unspoiled grounds.
