Filip Naudts special, part5.

As a closure to the Filip Naudts series here on duclerck, we end it with an article dedicated to his most recent work.
Currently, year 2004, he is creating individual photographs instead of
photographing an entire series like he did in ‘Erfenis van het
moederlandschap’ (2001-2002). The only similarities that the new work has, is the people subject and the way Naudts' is photographically catching them in his very typical way.
Those figuring in front of Naudts' camera are now, quite often, ordinary people who do not have any experiences at all, and who usually seem to be amazed by the result because of not recognizing themselves.
Filip Naudts: "It's true that I'm not a portraitist. While sitting in front
of my camera, people are entering my world, and the reason of
non-recognition might be directly related to their own, unusual but honest, way of emotional disclosure."
Since each photograph is strong enough for being exhibited and/or published separated there is no need for a co-ordinating title.
