Nad Iksodas tells us about the philosophy behind his new photography book 'Wet'.

Wet is centered on the idea of movement, and to catch the moment where the "subject" is no longer modelling. To incorporate movement, sometimes repeatedly, until what's left is unguarded expression and immersion in the moment.

The wet part helps to show the movement in the image and continues to break down layers and masks that we all wear in our day-to-day lives. No makeup left intact, no hairstyles, and even the layers and clothing are let go and no longer protect us. What is left is the view of an unguarded moment, the act of just being.
At the same time I was working through this series I was also faced with some choices, such as where I wanted to go with photography. I was also concerned about the appearance of my work. Although being met with solid acclaim as prints and publication, it was a disjointed and unconnected series of shots that may have been attractive in the singular, but did not say much as a group.

After some deeply considered thought, and discussions with a few people, I decided, that I would work towards one of two goals with every shoot: towards the next publication, or shoot for a specific series... a concept or a theme that tied all of the shots together. I wanted to shoot something more then just the same prop or location over and over with different subjects.
In the end, what I hoped for was a concrete body of work consistent in theme, and showing a distinct time period in my work: for the time line to have a beginning and an end.
Wet was the concept I decided to work on for the series. After perfecting the concept and how I would produce it, I contacted a number of people I have worked with before, and a couple of new, to complete the series.
